Nancy McCaochan. As a former writing professor and student of poetry my primary interest is articulation; that is, I enjoy transmitting information in a clear but lyrial way. A life-long love of philosophy and metaphysics drew me to the theoretical aspects of yoga, and these make their way into the book--as do technical considerations for the various poses. I began teaching yoga in 1995, and in 2001 left the college classroom to devote myself entirely to its study.
Although my yoga training is eclectic, my major influences have been in Krishnamacharya's lineage. Teachers include Jonny Kest, Ana Forrest, Seane Corn, Mark Whitwell, Shiva Rea, T.K.V. Desikachar and Jason Crandell as well as my colleagues who study under the tutelage of John Friend.
